Beyond Experiences was cultivated from a joint passion for creating memorable experiences, showcasing a unique and diverse region, and providing five-star service that exceeds expectations. Christine Mackay and Emily Mills discovered they held complementary skills and backgrounds which would enable them to bring “Beyond Experiences” to life and launched the company in 2015.

Now considered the leading bespoke destination management company on the Sunshine Coast, Beyond Experiences specialise in designing, planning and delivering luxury experiences, events and escapes that aim to INSPIRE, SPOIL and SURPRISE. All-inclusive itineraries and experience packages are catered for the high-end corporate market seeking business retreats or incentive travel, and high-end leisure travellers wishing to explore the Sunshine Coast.

The Beyond Experiences team continuously develop bespoke experiential products that highlight the Sunshine Coast’s unique culture and natural beauty. They also go to extra lengths to ensure their experiences, events and escapes are delivered in a style that oozes wow-factor and provides everlasting impressions.

Beyond Experiences select and collaborate with premium operators, suppliers and establishments on the Sunshine Coast, which enables the design of beautiful bespoke events. For Emily, Beyond Experiences encapsulates the essence of her active upbringing and adulthood, her passion to make the most out of life and her varied experiences throughout years of travel and her career.

Emily studied Media and Public Relations at university and went on to work within the advertising world for Foxtel, before being approached to work within the sports marketing and corporate sponsorship industry in Sydney. With a desire to see the world and have a break from the desk she ventured abroad and worked in the luxury superyacht and ski chalet industries in Europe, the Caribbean and the South Pacific for nearly five years. Working as a private chef and learning how to sail along the way, she had the pleasure of working for high-end clients, including royalty and high-profile business people. She learnt and perfected how to deliver impeccable five-star service and was lucky to experience many different parts of the world.

In 2008 her career called her backed to Australia where she joined USM Events (now Ironman), one of Australia’s largest and most experienced event management specialists. She joined the team as an Event Coordinator and progressed to National Event Manager during her time there, overseeing a number of large-scale events including the Noosa Triathlon Multisport Festival, the world’s largest triathlon, The Mooloolaba Triathlon Festival and Noosa Ultimate Sports Fest. She travelled Australia delivering other large sporting and lifestyle events as part of a dynamic events team.

Emily enjoys living a healthy, active lifestyle and is a qualified yoga instructor. She has a genuine passion for anything that benefits the mind, body and lifestyle as a whole.

About Christine

Christine has over 15 years experience within the hospitality, travel and tourism industries. Through Beyond Experiences Christine is combining her expertise in corporate conferencing, event management, sales and marketing, and managing lifestyle experiences with her genuine passion and gift for connecting with people.

Previously working in five-star establishments within Australia and Europe, including boutique travel agencies, Christine knows how to deliver outstanding service at all levels, taking a very personable approach to understanding her client’s needs.

Christine is originally from Gippsland Victoria and in 2003 she embarked on a travelling adventure experiencing many cultures and countries through Asia, Europe, America and Canada. Throughout her travels she had the remarkable opportunity to work in establishments such as the luxury golf and spa resort, Westin Turnberry in Scotland, and other five star resorts and travel aganecies. Upon returning back to Australia, Christine continued to work within the travel and tourism industry for Starwood Hotels Resorts in Queensland including The Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas and Sheraton Noosa Resort Spa (now Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort). Before not too long she had the entrepreneurial desire to create a business that would bring all her passions together through her love for lifestyle.

In 2011 Christine co-founded Key Element Events back in Victoria, with the desire to offer exclusive lifestyle experiences. She formed collaborative relationships with operators, establishments and local producers to deliver regional food and wine trails as well as adventure experiences such as Kokoda. This company formed some foundations for Beyond Experiences and Christine has never looked back.
